I stained my log home (southern yellow pine)with Flood CWF Cedar. I always thought it was too orange. I plan to pressure wash with Jomax and a light bleach combo and scrub it with a stiff nylon brush to cut as much of the old stain off as possible. I want to go brown but not too dark so I’m leaning toward the Dark Oak. Do you think I’ll have problems hiding the old Cedar color? Thank You!
You cannot apply over the Flood. It has to be removed first. Post pictures here in comment area for help with removing.

The Flood product is several years old. The last time I cleaned the house I used a pressure washer and Jomax combined with bleach. While it soaked in I scrubbed the house with a stiff nylon brush. Is there an alternative to removing the old CWF Flood stain so I can apply the TWP1500? I sure prefer to avoid having to sand the entire structure. Thank you!

Sorry but no. It has to come off. Use the RAD Stripper with both additives to remove. Brightener after.

Used RAD strip & brighten on cedar siding then applied TWP 1500 dark oak, but it’s so dark and I don’t care for how it looks. Will this brighten over time? If I wanted to remove this and put a lighter stain would RAD strip & brighten remove this freshly applied stain back to the natural cedar?
I stained my fence with 12 gallons of 1500 California redwood 5 years ago. It’s Time to restrain. I’m planning on using the 2 step restore-a-deck and Then staining with the same color as before- California redwood. Is this the correct approach and should I assume that I’ll need 12 gallons or would 10 gallons be enough?
Prep is correct and you will need the same amount of stain.

Ok… scientifically what is your LIGHTEST color of ALL your stains (100’s..1500’s, etc) that CAN be mixed into a dark 1500 stain to lighten it… (and hence keep 100% UV protection) ???
What is the maximum amount of “clear” you can add to a mixture (to make a color lighter) and still get FULL UV protection… 20%, 30%, 40%, 50%, 60%, 70%,etc… ????
You cannot add Clear and retain full UV protection. If you add 20% then the UV protection will be reduced by 20%. 50% and then half. etc.

I recently purchased a 5 gallon container of 1500 series California Redwood, to restain my pressure treated pine deck, stairs, handrails and balusters.
Unfortunately, we did not pre-order a sample of this color, way to yellow.
We expecteted it to be more “redwood”, not pine colored.
We have only used about a 1/2 gallon at this point, I am looking for a recommendation of what color could I add to bring the remainder of the stain to a more acceptable color tone.
The final color on your wood will vary drastically based on the wood type that you have and age. There is not an easy answer to this as it will always be different colors based on your actual wood. To add more red to what you have, you would want Rustic or Redwood. For more brown and red, you would want to add some Dark Oak as well.

I put cedartone on my dock 4 years ago. I just pressure washed really good and sanded where I felt I needed to. I want to use honeytone color now. What do you think?
If going to a lighter color all of the current stain will need to be stripped or removed fully.

Our 2 small treated wood decks are about 5 years old and we really need to have the wood protected, but am having a hard time matching a color that would coordinate with our house siding. I enclosed a picture of our home if you have recommendations for color. Thankyou.
I have stained my log house with TWP (#1501) and my pressure treated (4 years old) deck. The deck does not last more than a year or two. Is there a dedicated “Deck stain”? Thanks Mark
I have a 400ft2 pressure treated deck and want to stain it with the TWP 1500. In order to apply the second coat as directed within 30 minutes, I would have to walk on the first coat. Can this be done without damaging the first coat? Do you have any suggestions?
which of your color is close to behr woodbridge? guess i didnt go my homework on staining!
Sorry but no idea on Behr’s colors. We do offer samples for testing: https://www.twpstain.com/stain-samples

It will not lighten much. You will need to strip and brighten to remove prior to applying a lighter color.
Should I get the restore a deck kit for $49.99 or the stripper restore a deck for $64.99?
The Gemini Restore Kit.

We were looking for a “Teak” or Caramel color.
Any help at this point would be appreciated.
I am looking forward to your recommendation.

TWP does not come in a color like your siding color. Most do not match the house color. See our photo album for more pictures: https://www.twpstain.com/twp-1500-series-stain-colors-and-photo-albums/
want to stain a cedar porch swing, what about stain on clothing from sitting on white cedar boards that are treated with TWP? thanks.
Once the TWP is cured, no issues.
Is there a difference in the formula of what is should at home depot and the TWP sold online?
TWP is not sold at Home Depot.
Does the 1500 series come in Cape Cod grey and how many gallons would I need for a deck 364 ft plus seeps and rails
Sorry, the 1500 does not come in a gray. We would need a total sq footage that included all steps, floors, railings, etc. https://www.twpstain.com/twp-deck-stain-calculator

Not sure what you mean by dedicated. Two years is normal for a deck when it is time to redo. Nothing will last longer for a horizontal surface.
I applied the stain and there are shiny areas that look like they are wet but aren’t. What can be done to not have these shiny areas?

I have a little stain being displaced by early rain, is there anything I can do?
I have Cumaru decking. What do you recommend for this hardwood. South facing
Most use the Rustic or Honeytone colors.
Is it possible to order a small sample of 1501 cedar tone for color comparison
Yes, on this link: https://www.twpstain.com/stain-samples

Yes, you can do this. See here for tips: https://www.twpstainhelp.com/twp-stain-wet-on-wet-application/
What is the difference between the 200 series and the 1500?
The TWP 200 is more for Shakes and Shingles while the 1500 is for decks, siding, and fencing.
What’s difference between 100 and 1500 Stains…about to stain a newly build floating dock on saltwater “treated Pine boards”. Thank you!
Hello,

See this about the difference:

How does the 1500 series compare with 100 series in Nebraska
Both work very well for NE on decking. About the same. On verticals such as fences, you may get slightly longer UV protection with the 1500 Series.
