TWP 1515 Honeytone

by TWP Stains

TWP 1515 honeytoneTWP 1515 Honeytone is the lightest color in this series. This color will highlight the grain of your wood with golden tones.

TWP 1500 Series is available in 9 semi-transparent color choices that penetrate into the wood while enhancing the natural wood grain. The 1500 Series is higher in solids content which may result in “richer” colors than the 100 Series. In general, the 1500 Series color will not match the colors in the 100.

Final TWP 1515 Honeytone color will vary based on:

  • Type of Wood
  • Age of Wood
  • Prepping of Wood
  • Application method

Honeytone before, immediately after, 3 days after i was afraid it would be too orange, but we love it.

Did 1515 honeytone on my pt fence and hate the color. Looks nothing like online. No honey or gold or anything like other photos. More like cedar. Gonna need 10 more gallons to finish this 112ft long 6ft fence. Ruined the contrast and color coordination of the facade but there’s no turning back now. Does this color look correct to you?

Hi,

I would like to keep this same color on my white oak door. Will the honeytone keep this color or make it darker? Any other suggestions to keep this color on the door?

Thanks!

So if I add clear to my dark oak the UV protection, etc will be less correct because clear has no protection and I will have to restrain sooner correct ?

Can the 1500 series be used for interior cabin walls since it is low VOC?

So what would be used on the interior half of the logs?  Two products for a single log?

What is the difference with the TWP 100 series and the 1500 series?  I am looking at Honeytone since we had used Woodguard Honeybase in the past on our log home in Missouri and was wondering which of your 2 stains would be the best for us?

Are both series safe near water?  Our home is right on a fishing lake.

We have built a barn and the wood has been exposed for about a year and a half and it has greyed (which is perfect) but I need to put TWP on it. If I put clear on it then it will continue to grey (which I do not want). Would you suggest the Honey Oak to go on top of it or would that change the color too much?

I have a deck that I have sanded And is ready for stripping/cleaning in preparation to stain. However, the railing needed to be replaced so this will be new pressure treated lumber. Should I go ahead and finish the deck? Then do the railing next summer? Or wait and do the whole thing at once?
Also, how do you recommend applying the Honeytone so that it has the deepest color? I see that you sell a brush, paintbrush, and pads.

Hello, I manage a townhome community and we have always used TWP 200 in gold. Why can’t I find info about 200 any more? What’s the difference between the 3 types?

On the 100 series honeytone gallery pics they are the same pics as the 1515 series honeytone pics. Are they both the same in color tone . I’m trying to decide but both series show the same gallery.

We used a combination of both the 100 and 1500 honeytone on our deck and they dried in such a similar shade the difference was unnoticeable in our opinion, but they were applied at the same time not years apart.

Which of the lighter colors have better UV protection, Honeytone or Natural?

20 plus old pine deck. Stripped/sanded of paint. Sidee by side pic was First clean and brightener with Gemini restore on the left, second application on the right. Next pic is two coats of the honey tone. Alot of work to get to the actual staining, but it was worth it in the end.

What was the reason for applying cleaner and brightener twice? Did it give you a better result in the end you think. I have done it one on an old deck and am wondering if I should do it one more time. I tried a small sample of Cedartone on it and it is coming out darker than I anticipated. Would cleaning and brightening twice make the stain go on lighter? The stain definately went on darker than any of the picture under the Cedartone color.

Thanks! Also, my deck is about 650 sq ft, no railings- will 5 gallons be ok? The Sun shines about7 hours a day on the deck

Does the honeytone has less UV protection because there is less pigment in the stain?
