TWP Semi-Solid Pro-Series 5-Gallon Deck Stain
I have a deck that has been stained with TWP 100 stain that now needs to be stripped, brightened, and stain reapplied. I would like to go with the semi-solid stain vs semi-transparent and would like to know the color of semi-solid stain closest to the semi-transparent 120 Pecan color. Also, I assume I need to fully strip and brighten the existing stain before applying the semi-solid.
I’m sorry, but there are no matching colors, and since it is semi-solid, it will have more opacity. Maybe Musket, Earth, or Appalachian Trail would be somewhat close, but none will match the Pecan 120 color. Fully strip and brighten is correct.
What product would be appropriate for a boat dock? The wood is treated 2×6 pine that has been down for about 9 years. Another section on the dock only about 4 years and never stained. Which product would hold up the longest? I’ve used your 100 series on a covered deck, and it works great! I assume you have a product that would fit the needs of an exposed boat dock. Hot and humid with lots of sun. Thanks for your recommendation.
The semi-solid colors will work great in the full sun. Make sure to properly prep both areas prior to applying. If you want help with this, post some pics in the comments.
Thanks! I’ve attached some before pressure washing and after pictures. These boards are on a boat dock and fully exposed to the sun with the exception of a covered porch. Some are treated 2×6 treated about 9 years old. They were stained at the time of construction. Protection is long gone. The 5/4 decking boards are only about 5 years old, and have never been stained. Thanks for your input. I would like to purchase a product that will give me a few years of protection without having to re-apply every year.
If all the wood is clean now, then you should be ready to stain with the TWP. The semi-solid colors will give the best results in full sun.
Great! What is the shelf life of the product if you keep any leftover in climate controlled location? I’m not sure I would use an entire 5 gallons, but I would want to save for later use.
Opened 12 months. Unopened about 3 years.
Thanks! How long before I can receive product after completing an order? It would ship to 35769 zip code (Alabama)
3-4 business days.
