Here is the Mt. Rushmore low VOC semi-solid stain job. As you suggested, one coat did the job – the prepped wood gobbled up the stain. Looks fantastic! Thank you for your recommendations, technical assistance, & quick response to questions.
Nice!
Hello, how long before rain safe after applying the TWC semi-solid low VOC stain? One coat applied; we finished applying this afternoon at 5 pm; temp at application 80 degrees F, 50 overnight and into the 70’s tomorrow – rain showers expected 5 or 6 pm tomorrow. Does the deck need to be covered or not a concern? BTW, all the prep stripping, neutralizing & brightening, then Mt. Rushmore tinted stain – the deck looks brand new again. Thanks!
No need to cover. We would love to see some pics of the finished deck. You can post them in the comments.
I have used TWP products for years, but have noticed the label no longer says EPA registered wood preservative? Does it still qualify for that, or did the preservative ingredient stop being added?
The 1500 Series is EPA-registered. We cannot register the semi-solid colors as they are all custom colors, and to be EPA registered, every color has to be submitted for approval.
The TWP VOC compliant semi-solid stain is scheduled to arrive today. 1. Is a natural bristle brush the ideal brush to apply TWP stain? 2. Recommendations of using an airless sprayer – in this case, a Wagner Power Painter Plus. Thanks
These brushes or similar are best:

Any airless sprayer should work. Use a wide fan tip.
Can the low VOC semi solid stain be used over the original (high VOC) semi solid? Using the same shade. Would I clean, brighten and apply? Certainly hope I don’t have to strip again.
Yes.
I currently have 1500 series in pecan on my cedar siding and railings and it’s held up really well on those vertical surfaces vs the horizontal surface of my deck. I’m interested in trying something with more longevity for the floor boards. Is there a color of semi-solid that would come close to the pecan?
No, there is not. You can test sample colors:

I have a Log home in Lodge Brown (typical brown for lodges! )
There are two decks; one is pressure treated, and one cedar. The decks abut each other, and are old and scratched up, but treated each year with Australian Timber oil. I’m sick of seeing all the scratches.
Two questions: 1.)what color would look good against the Lodge Brown house, and 2.) Would your semi-solid help hide the scratches? Or should I go with solid
The decks are 35 years old.
Best VOC-compliant and oil-based wood stain!
