thanks for the quick response! Do you recommend using another product/method prior to the restore a deck in this case?
Only a wood brightener will remove a rust stain.

You have to clean and brighten to remove the mill glaze with the Gemini Kit. Please read this: http://www.twpstainhelp.com/prepping-new-wood-for-twp-stains/

I’ve already cleaned it with bleach and a pressure washer. Some of the old stain or sealer remains. I live in Alabama. Assuming I want to go forward with TWP, how do you suggest I proceed now and which TWP would be best?
Thanks
Since you have some old stain remaining you should use the Restore A Deck Stripper and pressure washing to remove. Use the brightener after you strip off the old stain.

Thanks
You should use the kit to prep the wood after the sanding. This will remove any sand dust and help the stain to penetrate deeper. Only one coat this time as two coats may not soak in properly after heavy sanding. You will need about 5-6 gallons for one coat.

I have recently sanded away all previous Olympic solid stain down to original wood of my pressured treated deck.
Is this okay to apply 1500 dark oak now?
Since it is fresh wood what would the Gemeni Restore kit accomplish?

As long as the wood is the same type and grade it should all clean up and look the same.

Try soapy water a soft bristle brush. Too much pressure or a deck cleaner at full strength and you will most likely need to restain.

Is there any problem using the cleaner on that? I don’t think it should be a problem but wanted to check with you guys anyway.
What about the brightener? Any issues? While I don’t think it would be a problem either I’m not sure it would do any good. I don’t know if it would “brighten” the Trex (I would try a test spot 1st) & I don’t think the “neutralizer” part of would be of any benefit. Your thoughts?
Yes you can use both but if the mold is deep into the Trex, then you may need to clean it a few times to get it out all the way. The brightener will not have much affect.

Lightly sand after using the Gemini Kit but do not use more then 60-80 grit paper. You will also need to heavily rinse with water after the sanding to remove any sand dust from the pores of the wood.

For the sake of safety, I’d like to simply get the slick stuff off and then will fully clean/treat/brighten with your kit k57in the spring as soon as weather allows. Would you recommend I just scrub with a soap solution and a good deck brush…then hose off? Unfortunately, today I started with a bleach based cleaner. It did remove some of the grunge, but it looks awful. Your input is appreciated.
Yes that should be fine but if you have a pressure washer use it to make it easier.

Thank you
Most likely that is oxidized wood cells that were not completely removed during the cleaning process. If it does not show when wet with water then it will not show when you stain. Take note, knots do have a tendency to be lighter in color and is not related to this.
