You will need to remove the SW product first before using the TWP.

It might be best to go ahead and soda blast but then brighten all the wood after to you have an even pH balance for all the wood.

The Stripper should not harm the Trex and it does help to remove the mold.

Which Sikkens was it? The SRD that is not shiny or the Cetol that is shiny like a varnish? Makes a huge difference as is if can be stripped or not? The SRD can be removed with the RAD Stain stripper and pressure washing. Neutralize with the brightener after.

Question: How do we prep the deck for the re-stain? Do we have to strip 1st coat of TWP 100 to re-stain with same TWP 100 color? If so, why?

No you do not need to use the RAD Stain Stripper for this scenario. Use our Gemini Restore Kit for the prep.

Strip with the Restore A Deck Stain Stripper and apply the brightener after. Just one coat is normal for Mahogany wood.

Most of it was not stained at all or sealed in any way. Should I use the stripper only on the parts that were stained and the cleaner on the remainder or use the stripper on everything? Stripper on all. Brighten when done.

Our products cannot be applied over paints or solid stains. Our products also do not come in white or taupe colors.

Not easy to strip off a newly applied stain. You will need to Restore A Deck Stripper and pressure washing to remove. In addtiona it may take more then one attempt of the stripping to remove it all. Make sure to use the RAD brightener on all the wood when done. Please read this about new wood:

After applying the RAD Stripper it is best to pressure wash off the coating that is being removed. Once fully removed, use the RAD brightener to neutralize.

Cleaners or stain strippers will not remove ink stamps. You would need to sand this off now, let the wood season for another month, then prep all with the Gemini Restore Kit.

It removes semi-transparent stains like the Defy but you will need to use a pressure washer as well. Use the Restore A Deck Brightener after to neutralize. It will not remove a solid stain uless the solid stain is peeling. Best to tarp off with plastic sheeting to be safe.

Only apply with a pump sprayer or inject through pressure washer. Each container makes 5 liquid gallons. 5 gallons will cover between 500-1000 sq. feet depending on the coating being removed.

My contractor is telling me he can not remove all of the polyurethane, even using 80 grit sand paper. Some of the boards have cupped, making it difficult to remove the polyurethane. He wants to use a “super stripper”. I am very reluctant to allow him to use a stripper. He raised a concern about sanding the wood too smooth, closing the wood pores. I have told him I don’t care if the rough cut cedar is sanded smooth to remove the cupping and would rather see the wood sanded than using a stripper. Please let me know your thoughts.
