- Restores weathered wood to natural color
- 100% biodegradable – will not harm plants or pets
- Does not contain chlorine bleach that may damage wood fibers

Important Note: Gemini Safe Strip Stain Stripper may not fully remove Solid Color Wood Stains, Paints, Varnishes, and Excessively Over-Applied Acrylic Semi-Transparent and Semi-Solid Coatings. To remove these deck and wood stain types, use the RAD Paint & Solid Stain Stripper
Surface Preparation:
Injecting:
1. Put injector hose into undiluted Injectable Safe-Strip container. Inject desired working area (200-300 sq. ft. recommended). Injector ratio 12:1 or lower.
2. Although Injectable Safe-Strip has little or no dwell time, 5 minutes of product working time is recommended. Pressure wash, working area thoroughly.
Ready-to-use:
1. Pour Injectable Safe-Strip into container. Add 4 parts water (1 gallon makes 5 gallons, 5 gallons makes 25 gallons). Apply liberally to wood surfaces. Best application results are with a Deck Sprayer. After application, always keep working area moist during surface preparation.
2. Once applied you may begin to scrub (NO SCRUBBING NECESSARY WITH USE OF PRESSURE WASHER). When scrubbing applied area, use synthetic, stiff bristle brush; do not use a wire or natural bristle brush.
3. Rinse thoroughly with hose or pressure washer. A pressure washer will show the best results.
* Use caution when using Safe Strip. Wet surfaces will be slippery.
Coverage Rate: Approximately 500-1000 square feet per gallon.
Is twp 115-1 safe to use over water ,can it be put on wet wood.

I thought I could use it as an injectable product but my pressure washer only does 20:1 and not 12:1 as your instructions suggest. So I am spraying it on using a manual pump sprayer and then letting it soak for about 10 minutes. I then power wash the fence to get the stain off. It seems to work very well. Your website only shows that it comes in 1 gallon containers. Does it also come in 5 gallon containers? I have a lot of fence and a large patio cover. All of it is cedar. Would I also need the brightener product after using this Safe Strip product? Thanks in advance for your reply.
Hello, the Safe Strip only comes in gallon sizes. Using a wood brightener would be beneficial for the final appearance.

No, it will not. You will have to sand it off.

TWP does not darken on its own so there had to have been an outside contaminant that caused this. Mold feeding on pollen dust, excess dirt in air, etc. A lightly clean to remove dirt would help every year or so.

Stain strippers will not remove a varnish like product. Corn cob blasting is probably your best option.

1. If you still have old stain on the wood then yes.
2. If you still have stain then use the stripper and brightener for the fence. If no stain then the Gemini Restore Kit.

Best to use the Restore A Deck Stripper followed by the brightener. It will be more effective on removing new stain.

This will not work on water based stains very well and verticals log homes may be a challenge. It is designed to remove oil based semi-trans stains like the TWP from decking.

You cannot apply TWP over the SW so you will need to remove it. This can be done by stripping and you may need to sand as well. After you will need to brighten the wood. Use Restore A Deck Stripper and Brightener.

The RAD Stripper is stronger. The Safe Strip is more for removing just old coatings of TWP.

Yes you should strip and brighten then restain the deck.

You would need the Restore A Deck Stripper and pressure washing to remove. Brighten the wood when done. Best to get some samples of the stain from our site to test the color.

Safe Strip failed to remove the majority. I used 1 gallon on the deck applied with pump sprayer followed with pressure washer (2500 PSI). I allowed the 5 minute then gradually longer dwell times to no benefit. I reduce the dilution gradually as I went to attain better results.
The pressure washer did the majority of the work – there are areas that Safe Strip was totally ineffective at making any progress.
I’ll be using a drum sander now to remove the balance.
I like the TWP stain – but this product was a complete loss in terms of money and time.
The issue is the Behr stain you are trying to remove not the stripper.

Teri, Behr is difficult to remove. You would want the Restore A Deck stripper for this. Sand if needed and brighten when done. Use the 1500 Series.
I have a partially covered boat dock – Behr stain has completely worn away on the exposed parts and is partially peeling on the floor of the covered areas. Which prep product is safe to use over water and which TWP stain should I use afterwards? Many thanks
James, use the Restore A Deck Stripper and Wood Brightener for this prep.
