Restore-A-Deck Stripper and Remover is a powdered concentrated deck stain stripper that makes 5 liquid gallons.
When applied through a pump sprayer, the RAD stripper can remove most transparent, semi-transparent, and semi-solid deck stains. Total coverage is 500-1000 sq feet per 5 gallon when mixed.
The Restore-A-Deck Stain Stripper needs to be neutralized and this combo kit comes with the Restore-a-Deck Wood Brightener. The brightener covers 750-1000 sq feet per 5 gallon when mixed.

My deck runs directly up to my home which is painted. Will the stain stripper damage the paint if it gets on the wall?
The RAD Stripper does not remove paint but prewet and rinse over spray while working to make sure no issues.
My deck is between 700-800 sq.ft. Coverage with the TWP 100 series is listed at 100-200 sq. ft. If I order 5 gallons, I could be fine or left short with such a broad specification of coverage. How do I determine how much to order?
Coverage varies drastically based on wood age, wood type, and application method. You also have to consider how many coats you are applying.

I have two decks that seem to have a solid stain on them (I am not an exact expert, but they are pretty dark in pigment). I would like to strip them and apply one of your stains. I live in GA. Is my best bet to use this kit, then sand what doesn’t come off? Also, do you recommend TWP 100 or 1500?
Solid stains cannot be stripped fully. Feel free to post some pics in the comments to determine the stain type you have.

It looks like an old solid stain which means it cannot be fully stripped. You will have to power sand to remove all of it.

Let dwell for an hour and then pressure wash off. Sand the rest off when it dries and then Brightener.

I have 2 large, pressure treated decks, that I stained with TWP 100 four years ago. It is time to re-stain both. There is some stain remaining on portions of the deck that I don’t necessarily want to strip. How should I prep these areas?

Won’t the restore kit strip the old stain?
The Gemini Restore Kit is a Cleaner and Brightener kit unlike the Restore A Deck Stripper and Brightener kit. You have to use one or the other for best results for prep.
I’m considering using Prairie Gray for my deck. Because it’s close to a semi-solid vs semi-transparent what will I need to do to prep when it comes time for reapplication?

I’m looking to re stain my 20 year old Red Cedar deck. It was only sealed last year not stained. Do I strip, wash, and brighten?? Just strip and brighten? I would like to apply the TWP100 brand. I live in southeast Wisconsin.
Just strip and brighten is the correct way to prep.
Is applying borate recommended in combo with this? If yes, should that be done after stripper and brightener?
You do not have to use a borate but if you want, you would do it after prep.
Hello, we used TWP 101 Cedartone on our Redwood Siding 2 years ago. It looked great but is starting to weather and have black spots. Do you recommend the RAD Stripper/Brightener Kit or the Gemini Restore-A-Deck Kit before putting on new coats of TWP 101 Cedartone?

Hello, we have a cedar home, in Florida, that has been coated with Cabot Australian Timber Oil Mahogany Flame three times over the previous 15 years. We are in the process of sanding in down (pictures attached) and would like to recoat in a two tone of TWP 100 Series Honeytone and dark oak. This is tongue and groove siding so some of the previous Mahogany Flame color is in the joints. I don’t expect to be able to get out all of the color. So the plan was after sanding down to the level of the photo we would apply Restore A Deck stripper and then apply the Restore a Deck Wood Brightener. Then pressure wash it again, let it dry for 2-3 days and apply HoneyTone & Dark Oak, Does this sound like the correct plan? Is the TWP 100 Series your recommended product for best UV protection in Florida?
Yes, that will all work correctly. Use the TWP 100 series.
My customer had a “Permaseal” finish put on this deck a couple years ago. I want to add the TWP100 for enhance the look. Any issues your are aware of with the Permaseal? Should I do the clean and strip? Thank you
You cannot apply TWP over the Permaseal. You would have to remove it fully first.
I have a very weathered (about 50% gone), 1-year old solid deck stain. I need to strip the remaining stain off, however, your stripper says, “The Restore a Deck Stain Stripper will not remove a Solid Color Deck Stain.” So, how do I prep my deck to use TWP 100 series?

We are going to restain decks previously stained with TWP 100 Cedartone. As preparation, do we need to use the Restore-A-Deck Cleaner then the Brightener? Should the Cleaner be pressure washed off? How long after applying the Brightener can the stain be applied?

48 hours to stain after prep.
Bought to combination pack with the prep kit and the stain. Followed the prep kit instructions. It made a huge difference to the appearance of the wood. Moreover, afterwards the wood seemed to just drink in the stain. We used soft, automotive wash brush on a long handle to apply the stain on a cloudy day in the 80’s. Went on fast. Dried overnight. Put on coat two the next morning. Looks great. Rained a few days later. The water beaded up and ran off. Color is exactly as expected. Have recommended to friends. MUCH easier to apply than the stuff in DIY stores. Great customer service too. The prep kit was ruined in the mail so they got another one right out to me. (Note: Take a picture of the problem for them.) Great company. Great products. Will used this when it’s time to stain the fence
