Note: Each sample is roughly 1-2 oz of liquid stain. This is enough to test a small area.
I purchased erroneously the twp 100 I did not know that it did not have uv protection, in other words, I did not understand the allowing the wood to gray = no uv protection. So I was told by the company that sold it to me to mix 1:1 the twp 100 with the twp 101 and that will afford the uv protection that I am looking for. Is that a true statement? I would think that adding these two products would dilute the amount of uv protection thus not doing the job the 101 would do in the first place. Thanks for your help with this matter.
It would dilute the protection in half but will definitely give you protection from graying. You will be fine for a couple of years.

They both have mildewcides. Same amount.
Hi, we have an older PT pine deck and stairs(17 years old) that was never stained, and another deck PT pine about 8 years old that was never stained. both powerwashed well. Which semi-transparent stain series is best for protection and appearance from now on, and which would last longest? Thanks.
Phil
The TWP 100 and 1500 will last about the same. Since the wood is older and never treated, it must be very dried out. In this scenario the 1500 would be best since it has a little more solids then the 100. Also might want to consider a darker tint as that will give better UV protection from graying.

I have a one year old, never stained, pressure treated deck. I live on an island with harsh conditions. Your stain seems highly recommended. Ordering samples.

Clear has zero UV protection from graying.

The TWP 100 sounds good, we are going to sand down everything after we replace the really bad ones and apply another product.
Do you agree with this choice, or please give us another one. We would even paint it with a more solid product, but would hate to do that.
I await your expertise advice!

The TWP is a penetrating oil based semi-trans stain. As log as the wood is prepped well and the stain is applied well, it should be good in your climate for about 2 years before it would need to be cleaned and reapplied.

Raised ffrom the ground on 6×6 PT postst, I notched a PT pine platform foundation(beams and joists) and 5/4 PT pine boards for the deck. The building on the deck is SPF framed, I used rough-sawn white pine for the exposed rafters and ties, metal roof ontop. I used t+g white pine siding boards on the outside of building.
What series would best suite my needs for my climate and the white pine both rough/planed?
Thank you,

I’d like to stain all of them next year. Will they all look the same color after staining since the weathering has different shades of gray now? I scrubbed the dock with a scrub brush to remove all the dirt and algae but probably need to use a cleaner next year before staining.
It will be close but maybe not exactly the same. Prep with the Gemini Restore Kit prior to staining.

Shoot for 95-100% removal. TWP should not be applied over a different brand of stain.

You cannot use a primer with TWP. TWP does not come in a solid color stain, only semi-transparents. Use the 1500 Series.
I am applying TWP to a 15 year old dock. I replaced 4 of the docks boards and sanded the rest. I’m using Restore-A-Deck stripper and brightened. I know it is recommended to wait 3+ months for new wood. Would it be okay to treat the dock avoiding the 4 replaced boards and then after a few months put a second coat on the older wood and first coat on the new? I would really like to protect the older wood as soon as possible rather than delay for 4 boards through the hot summer with full sun exposure. Using TWP 1520 Pecan.
Since it is only 4 boards just stain it all now. You will have to apply another coat to the new boards this Fall or next Spring.
