TWP 100 Stain

TWP 100 is not allowed in Ohio so you will need to use the 1500. TWP typically lasts about 2-3 years on a horizontals area before needing another coat. After sanding you should use the Gemini Restore Kit for final prep. TWP is applied wet on wet:

Hard to say for sure. If you do apply a second coat after the first coat has dried you will need to apply a very light coat and wipe off any excess stain that does no penetrate after 30 minutes.

If the finish is uneven you might want to strip this time with the RAD Stripper and use the RAD Brightener after.

It will dry but it may stay shiny since it was not done wet on wet. Tackiness will go away.

Yes all TWP stains are semi-transparent that show the grain of the wood. You cannot get cedar to match IPE. Might want to try to get a few samples and mix them together. Maybe a mixture of Rustic and Dark Oak would be somewhat close.

Knots will tent to be lighter in color when stained. The stain will cover these but they still might be a little lighter after drying.

That is more of question for the solid color stain/paint brand you will be using as to how they want it prepped. I would guess that they will say to strip off the 103 to be certain.

No you need to remove the sikkens if you want to use TWP.

Hard to say for sure on those posts and railings as it depends on the old brand and the type of stain it was. Can you sand most of it off?
