Prep first with the Restore A Deck stripper to remove the Olympic. Use the RAD brightener after to neutralize. Stain with the TWP 100 series after the prep.

Only one coat for IPE and only the 1500 Series is allowed for CA.

Hello, TWP cannot be applied on top of a solid stain. It would have to be removed 100% and that would require sanding it off. Once removed you could use the 1500 Series.

Since it has been two years you should prep with the Gemini Restore Kit and apply a maintenance coat of the TWP:

You can use the Gemini Restore Kit for the prep for this.

That’s a minimum and is usually okay but it does vary on the wood, exposure, temperature, sun, application amount, etc. Hence in some cases it can take as long as 48 hours to dry.

TWP cannot be applied on top of a solid stain. That would have to be removed fully first by power sanding. You should then clean and brighten the wood after the sanding for final prep. Use the TWP 103 dark oak for the color you wanted.

100 Series if allowed in your state otherwise you will need to 1500 Series.

KDAT should season for a month after install and you need to prep first with the Gemini Restore Kit to remove mill glaze. Only one coat of the TWP 100 Series. You do not apply a sealer over top of a deck stain. No need.

You have to remove the Cabot first with pressure washing and the Restore A Deck Stripper. Make sure to apply the brightener when done. Once prepped well, you can use the TWP 1500.
Hello I have a new deck. Built with KDAT pine. Its pretty dry as it is and I’m thinking it would be a good idea to seal it before it gets wet. Its covered for now. Roughly 900sqft also with the 100 does it need to be sealed after the stain is applied?

Honeytone is the lightest color. Cedartone is the next lightest in the 100 Series.
I just had a cedar fence installed a week ago. Living in Washington State we are still in the rainy season. How long will I need to wait after our rainy season ends to apply the stain? Some blogs say 6 weeks, some say 4 months.
Also I want a stain that will keep the natural appearance and not turn grey. Would the TWP 101 work the best?

1. No it does not.
2. No prep either is needed if rough cut.

You must alwasy remove previous coatings when switching to TWP. The Restore A Deck stripper works very easily on removing Penofin. Make sure to use a wood brightener after the stripping is done.

TWP does not create a shine/gloss and that type of look does not work well for exterior wood. As for a weathered look, you would want the TWP in the clear so it will not change the appearance and or prevent the natural UV graying (oxidation) that you like.

I would like to keep the seasoned look, what TWP would best suit my need. But another question I have not been able to get resolved. I know that the TWP seals the wood from weather damage, but I would like the high thick gloss look? Is that even an option in using the TWP? Please help with any suggestions that you might have or aide with.
