Hi, My painter used TWP-302QD last year (12 mo ago) to do our deck. It already needs to be redone in a part of the deck that gets lots of sun. Previously using the same wood protectant lasted over 2 years. Also, I found a can of TWP1502 used probably over 3-4 years ago. Which one is better for the deck floor? The railings still look great. Our deck is made of brazilian hardware. thanks Jeannette
The TWP 1500 Series is the proper product for decks, not the 300 series.
Hello. Our new natural cedar 12×12 ground level wood deck was finished the day before Memorial Day. It has treated structural lumber. The carpenter wants to come back next week to sand it down and put a coat of stain on it. We are not painters. We seek your advice on timing and which product to use. Our desire is to have a not-painted look. We are in MI.

stripped our older deck. stained it with ceder tone 100 series deck stain. I came up a little short on giving the whole deck a second coat. Can I get a little more stain and finish it in a few days or just leave well enough alone. It looks good as is.
At this point, it is best to leave as is. If needed, apply a light coat next Spring.

Greetings, I have an IPE deck that was stained new with TWP 100 Cedar and stained again with the same product after 1 year. Now it has been 2 years and 2/3 of deck is silver/gray with spots of residual stain. Would using the Gemini Restore kit and than stain again with same product work or do I need to sand those stubborn spots showing the second year stain? The exposed deck faces East, hot Utah summers and plenty of snow in winter. Waiting to stain until the second year was an experiment, or being lazy, ha ha.
Using the Gemini Restore Kit with pressure washing should work for the prep.
What is the difference between the 1500 series and the 100 series. I have used the 100 series Cedertone in the past with good results. I wonder if I should continue with the 100 or should I switch to the 1500 series.

I have used TWP Cedar Tone 101 for about 10 years on a Missouri Cedar (Yew) deck. Has been work ing fine. Do you still have that product?

Covered porch deck 16 x 20, 8 yrs old. Previously stained with Cabot stain. Have stripped, cleaned and brightened with Gemini products. Some small area with mildew stains remain, even after cleaning twice with the cleaner. Any suggestions to remove the mildew stains?
Try 1 part bleach to 4 parts water. Apply and rinse well after 10 minutes.
This weekend the temperature will be in the 50’s and down to the 30’s at night. Will I be able to stain a new cedar pressure treated deck? I have the TWP 100.

I just bought a house that has a pressure treated deck. Seems untreated. I’m looking to apply TWP 100 in Cedartone. What should i do for prep and application? If I use deck cleaner, how long will it have to dry (in Northern VA) before applying the stain. Anyone have good pics of what the finished product should look like for this color on PT wood?
Prep with the Gemini Restore Kit. This will restore the wood. Takes two days to dry before staining.

Try a graffiti remover cleaner and pressure washing.
My “wood experts” neglected to put down drop cloths for staining my second story deck and i have tons of brick landscape stones and brick pavers that got drip, splash, and other oily stains now. The wood looks great! The bricks do not. Any suggestions for helping remove or lighten these stains? Thanks!

You used the 100 Clear? The clear is not tinted and does not have UV protection for the wood. You will need to remove it with this:

And then apply TWP in one of the tinted colors for an enhanced look and UV protection.

Vertical components of the deck are not peeling like the horizontal parts. What should I use to strip off old stain and what stain do you recommend I use?

Yes, prep with the Gemini Restore Kit and pressure washing. Just one coat for IPE. Most use the Rustic 116 color for IPE. Coverage is 300+ per gallon for this wood type.

Hello, depends on if the wood is new or older wood if you can do two coats. New wood is one coat. Older wood is typically two coats applied wet on wet. See this about wet on wet:

It will not be possible to match the new and old wood exactly based on the age and different types of wood. Best would be a reddish tint in the 1500 Series. Look at the TWP 1516 Rustic.

Most of that has either worn or been power washed away. Wondering what the best solution is given the different types of wood we have. And will a semi-transparent stain unite the wood enough in appearance? Will the new cedar pieces eventually match the old wood, or will staining prevent the aging of the new pieces?

Use the 100 Series. Any color that you like will work. TWP does not darken like the Super Deck so dirt does not matter.

TWP is applied 2 coats wet on wet. Prep the deck with the Gemini Restore Kit and stain with the TWP 1500 Series for NY.

Use the 1500 Series for this.
Pine, AZ. 6,000 foot elevation. Neglected for ten years. Moldy, very dried out in places. 1200 sq ft wrap around redwood deck. Mostly exposed, 1/3 under covered porch still showing some stain. Clean and brighten with restore a deck, strip old stain and brighten. Sand it all then 1500 or 100 series stain?

For UV protection, you will need to use a tinted color. Try the Honeytone 115. Prep with the Restore A Deck Stripper Kit.

If you are sanding, do it first and then clean and brighten the wood for the final prep.
