We have used TWP 101 cedar tone on our cedar deck for years. This year my wife got a gallon of the 1501 cedar tone I’m wondering if they are the same other then the VOC and can they be used together?
No, they are not the same and not the same color. You can use it but you will need to strip off the 101 first.

I’m having a house built with cedar headers above the windows in Kansas City, MO. The cedar will be in full sun for most of the day. Would it be best to get 100 or 200? Thanks!

I power washed the deck 3 times in 3 days, then removed and sanded the boards on all sides. about 70% of the boards I turned over and used that side for the surface. Most of the screws were not coated and were rusted badly. After removing all the screws I drilled out the holes and filled them with Elmer’s wood filler. I plan to coat 3 sides with a semi transparent stain. After that I will attach the boards to the deck. which series do you think I should use. I don’t want to have to stain every year.
You should not have used wood filler. It will fail and will not “stain” to blend. Only stain the exposed sides. Which series to use depends on where you live?
Should I apply a water sealant after I apply TWP 100 Series stain to my porch floor?
No, you can never top coat over the TWP.

After applying the RAD Stripper and brighner and washing away (I power washed after applying stripper and rinsed after applying brihtner), I see residues on the wood while drying. What should I be doing before applying the stain?

That is oxidation. It typically does not show when stained but you can lightly sand it if you want.
Did you mean ‘it does not show up when stained’ or ‘it does show when stained’? I did some sanding with a rotary sander, but, it did not take it away much since the wood itself is not very flat. Appreciate your answer.

Can you provide me with a SDS for the TWP 100 and 1500?, And what is the difference in the Base oil used are they both the same base oil whit 1500 being less oil to reduce the VOC?

Bases do not make VOCs, how much evaporates into the ozone does. Both are oil-based.

The difference is VOC levels and what is allowed in your state. Where do you live?

I just finished sanding my deck and stairs and am ready to clean and brighten, should I use a stiff brush to clean or a pressure washer for the best results? I pressure washed before sanding and it left a rough surface, just dont want to see that again after spending so much time sanding.
Pressure washing lightly for prep while using the cleaner and brightener to open up the wood grain.
Hello, couple of questions. I used the TWP 100 2 years ago and am ready to reapply. Which prep products do I need. Also, can this be put on a damp deck after being cleaned or does it have to dry. ? Clean and brighten for prep with the Gemini Restore Kits. Let dry for 48 hours. Has to be applied wet on wet for two coats. 40-60 minutes.

Hi…I used the TWP series 100 Honeytone stain on my house last summer. I lightly power washed this summer to remove pollen and mildew from building up. I am thinking about applying a light coat of your clear stain and not another coat of honeytone. I think the honeytone would darken the current look. I like the current look. Should I do this or apple another light coat of honeytone? thanks!
You cannot apply the clear over the stain colors. Use the same color as before.
I live in Kansas City MO and plan on staining an unfinished cedar deck that’s about a year old. Would you recommend 100 or 1500? Also, do you have any photos of a pecan and dark oak mixture? I like dark oak but would like it a little lighter. Thanks!
Use the TWP 100 Series after prep with the Gemini Kit. We do no have mixed-color photos. If you want a lighter Dark Oak, add some Clear into it.
Our 12mo old deck is cleaned and ready to be stained, but we got almost 2 inches of rain this past weekend. How long do we have to wait for the wood to dry out to stain it?

I put to coats of stain on some outdoor wood chairs we have. First coat dried just fine now second coat is very tacky. They been sitting now for 24 hours and still tacky
Let it dry and cure out but sounds like you over-applied. It will cure but it may take a few days or longer.
My prep work on porch is almost complete. I used the stripper with both additives and the brightener. Unfortunately, due to weather it’s been 3 weeks since that was completed.I have enough of the brightener for another ‘shot’ however I do not the cleaner and time is of the essence as I’m having some major adjacent landscaping done in a week. It’s a loaded question, but is there an alternative product I can use to clean/rinse off the porch and railing.I started this project in ample time for a normal year, unfortunately this is unpredictable weather this summer not seen for over 15 years.Help!
Give it a good pressure wash with water, apply the brightener, rinse well. You will be okay.
Can TWP be used to seal/protect charred cedar (aka shou sugi ban)? If so which specific product do you recommend? I’ve done sample tests with tung oil, mineax wood hardener and water based poly and the tung worked best (after 2 months in outside in south facing sun and rain) but I’m concerned about the longevity of tung oil. I have redwood deck in Colorado that has been stained about every two years with transparent stain that is no longer available.Deck is about 9 years old and good shape.has redwood stain on now.is 100 series good enough or do I need 1500 series? Deck is 6 years old pressure treated pine. TWP 100 Pecan applied 5 years ago. Has had several cleanings and color is fading on deck located outside. The deck under roof still looks great.Time for a deep clean and restain. Going back with same product in Tennessee. What cleaning and brightening kit do you suggest? Only if the current stain is TWP. Also, stripping is just as easy as cleaning.
I can’t find my original post from earlier this morning so I have to start over lol…. Michigan deck built in 2011. Stained TWP in 2013. Nothing else done until I power washed it last summer and obviously the deck is faded bad, especially near the pool ladder area (chlorine in the water). Going to use TWP 100 this year. But I’m wondering which prep products should I use? The Gemini cleaner and brightener or the RAD Stripper and Brightener? Does it even need a cleaner since it was power washed last year? Thanks!

It is not always suggested as it depends if the wood will take the stain. Do a test spot to see who it dries.

The 200 is designed for shakes and shingles while the 100 is for all wood type.

30 yr old Cedar siding previously stained with Cedartone Natural 100. Love the look of it, however, the southeast part of the house is much thirstier than the rest of the house because it sees more weather and sun. (Northeast Wisconsin). I notice some of the boards are in ill repair some curling a little bit and some cracked so should I coat that side of the house more frequently than the rest of the house and does it need the 2-step cleaner brightener each time I recoat?
