Hi – we just had our deck rebuilt. Pressure treated pine. Understand we cannot stain until 4+ mos of aging.
Not sure whether to use 100 or 1500?
We live in North Carolina. Deck is on the back side of the house (South) and gets full afternoon sun.

The 100 Series is not allowed on Ohio. Use the TWP 1500 Series.

Hello, use the TWP 1500 Series. The Honeytone color is the lightest tint that provides UV protection. We also have samples on our site for you to test colors.

1. You have to remove the Cabot fully. Either by sanding or stripping with the Restore a Deck Stripper. Use the RAD brightener after to neutralize.

Both work very similar but the 100 Series is not compliant in certain states. The 1500 Series does have a little higher solid content and that can translate into slightly better UV protection on a vertical surface such as your fence. Does not mean it will last longer but can hold color a little longer. The 100 Series advantage is that is dries quicker and is able to penetrate deeper.

Use the 100 Series for this deck in MI that is 10 months old. Prep first with the Gemini Restore Kit.
I had a pressure treated deck built on a lakehouse in Michigan. It’s about 1200 square feet and faces south. Full sun all day. The wood is 10 months old and we need to treat it. Would you recommend 100 or 1500. Thank you so much.

You can use the 100 Series. For two coats applied wet on wet you will need roughly 15-20 gallons.

Yes lightly wash the deck again after the sanding. For NJ you will need to use the 1500 Series.
I have a 30 year old pressure treated pine deck in northern NJ that gets a lot of sun. It is in pretty decent shape. I replaced some boards and power washed the whole deck. Use the TWP 100 Series.
Reconditioning deck in Michigan. Upper deck is original (10 years). Lower deck added on about 4 years. Cleaned and brightened, but some color difference remains. Lots of sun from midday on. Heavy lake effect snow in winter. Some mold around posts and underneath furniture.
What stain is recommended. I prefer as light as reasonable for conditions.

Use the 100 Series for MI. Clean and prep with the Gemini Restore Kit first then apply the TWP 105 Cap Cod Gray.

You would have to remove the old layers of sealer before applying the TWP. You would want the 1500 Series.

Use the 100 Series since you have only 3-4 hours of sun. Better penetration and dries faster.

One side of cabin gets sun 3-4 hours a day, rest of cabin gets little to no sun. Lots of snow in the winter and warm dry summers. Do you recommend the 100 or 1500 series and why?
