TWP 100 PRO Series Stain and Gemini Restore A Deck Kit Combo Pack
This Combo Kit comes with both 5 Gallons of TWP 100 Series and the Gemini Deck Cleaner and Brightener Kit for prepping your wood.
1 Gemini Restore A Deck Kit
Restore-A-Deck Cleaner and Brightener system is a powerful “eco-friendly” two-part restoration system.
Step 1 Wood and Deck Cleaner that deeply cleans your wood to remove dirt, grime, mold, algae and general graying. The cleaner will help prep neglected wood and or prep for re-coating with a wood or deck stain.
Step 2 Wood Brightener is used after the wood cleaner to “brighten” the wood while neutralizing the cleaner to a natural pH balance. This step will improve the overall appearance of your wood while helping the wood deck stain longevity.
The kit covers 750-1000 sq feet when mixed.

*We do not guarantee stain colors as they will vary widely depending on the wood type, age, of wood, prepping of wood, and application. Small samples are available.
*TWP 105 Cape Cod Gray and 106 Prairie Gray are close to semi-solid in appearance.
I have approximately 280 feet of 6-foot high fence to do. That would be 560 feet if we’re counting both sides of the fence. Can you please tell me how much product do I need to purchase to do the clean/ brightened/ stain for this project?
I’m not sure if you are doing your math correctly. Is the 280 the square footage for one side, or is that linear feet on each side?
See this for more tips: https://www.twpstain.com/twp-deck-stain-calculator
can i apply on floor wood deck, where is not sun?
Yes.
Is the product oil based?
Yes. TWP 100, 1500, and 200 Series are all oil-based.
Thanks, can you recommend a type used for signs of age treated boards on an outdoor deck?
The Semi-Solid colors. Oil based as well:

How many years will this stain last ?
How long it lasts depends on many factors including wood age, wood type, and exposure to the elements. On a normal wood deck. you would get 2-3 years on the deck surfaces. On vertical wood, you can get 4-6 years, sometimes longer.
Our deck was stained with TWP 303 a couple of years ago. It is in good shape but now we would like to stain it with TWP 103. Can we use the Gemini cleaner/brightener then stain it? How many coats do you suggest, one coat or two wet to wet?
You will have to remove the 300 series stain first. Post some pics for prep help with this.
Is Gemini storm shield the same as TWP? Is this sold at Kelly Moore paint stores?
Storm Shield is not the same and is not sold anymore.
We stained our seasoned 1 yr old cedar deck & fence after cleaning & brightening per your recommendations. Now there are areas where we have some bubbles on horizontal surfaces including the top edges of the railing slats & the deck boards (see attached pictures). We used transparent stain but plan to change to a semi transparent the next time (summer 2024). Should we strip & brighten prior due to the bubbles, or just clean & brighten again?
Best to determine which is needed at that time.
What do you mean by that? How do I know if I need to use the stripper vs the cleaner?
You decide how to prep and with what at the time do redoing. Depends on condition then, not now.
Using TWP 100 on new Ipe deck. How long will the finish last until I need to clean and reapply? In Lancaster, Pa. Deck faces north and in the shade.

I have a new deck that is 4 months old. There is a 15×15 screened in section and a 6×18 open section. Handrails all around and a 10 step staircase. The calculator says I need 9-10 gallons of stain. This sounds ridiculously high. Am I better off buying this 5 gallon kit and seeing how much it takes? Then I know exactly how much to buy in 2 years.
Only one coat for new wood so 5-6 gallons should work.
I purchased a 5 gallon container of California Redwood a couple of years ago. I’m looking for more but I see you only carry Redwood. it looks quite a bit darker and redder than our stain. Is it different and if so is California Redwood still available
Only is and ever been available in the 1500 Series.

Is the Brightener with the Gemini Cleaner/Brightener kit the same as in the RAD Stripper/Brightener kit? (are they interchangeable?) Or is it unique to the Gemini kit and can’t be used with the RAD kit? I’m going to need to strip some parts of our fence, and only clean other parts, but it all needs brightening afterwards.
The Brightener will work the same between each kit.
Looking to stain 2 year old deck and 1 year old fence, both are Alaskan Yellow Cedar. I’ve heard horror stories of staining this type of wood, how does your stain do on this? And is the 100, 1500, or semi-solid better for this material? Also, this is for western Washington, so what best for a lots of rain for 8 months out of the year?Last question, how to properly measure the amount of stain needed for a fence, horizontal planks?Thank you.
You can stain your wood type and the TWP Semi-solid would give the most uniform appearance. Sq footage for a fence is length x height x 2 for both sides
If the semi solid would give the most uniform appearance, what would the 100 or 1500 provide?
A semi-transparent look.
1. Semi-transparent stains highly the natural color and porosity of your wood and that means your wood type decides the final outcome of appearance. The only way to know the final outcome is to test with samples.2. No.3. Yes.4. The semi-solid is not a paint or solid stain. It still shows some wood grain.5. They all perform the same when it comes to this.
If I have sanded an existing deck, should I purchase the RAD Stripper / Brightner or the Cleaner / Brightner kit + stain?
Cleaner and then Brightener kit.
Do you need to apply a sealant on top of the oil based stain deck?
No and you can never apply a sealer over a deck stain like TWP. It will peel.
How do I calculate how much TWP 100 is needed for a new 6ft-high cedar privacy fence with pickets on both sides, 205 lineal feet? I will stain both sides, thus calculated at 410 lineal ft = 2460 sq ft (If I’m calculating correctly). I plan on 2 coats (wet on wet; so second coat uses 50% less than first coat?).
You will need about 20-25 gallons for the two coats.
Our deck boards were all replaced in May. We have some large oak trees with branches over our deck which have gypsy moth caterpillars at this time of year. The caterpillar feces has stained our new deck boards to the point that pressure washing will not remove the stains. We plan to use Dark Oak on the deck boards when ready. Will this color be dark enough to cover the stains or will your deck cleaner and brightener be able to eliminate these stains and let us obtain a more uniform stain color? Thanks Jim
Those gypsy moths are horrible!
The prep will remove it. See this about new wood: https://www.twpstainhelp.com/prepping-new-wood-for-twp-stains/
How much time is needed between applying the cleaner/brighter before you can apply stain?
48 hours.
where can I buy twp 115 honey stain and perservative?
We sell directly from our website to have it shipped to your home: https://www.twpstain.com/twp-100-series
My deck was stained on Saturday with TWP 101 and it is still wet. Using a rag, I can still wipe up stain. What do I need to do? I’m right on Lake Huron, so a high humidity area. Temps have been 50 and above.
See here for tips: https://www.twpstainhelp.com/twp-stain-is-spotty-or-shiny/
Getting ready to clean and brighten new cedar deck with the Gemini product, but we may have some rain for a few days after, before we can get the new stain on (TWP 101). How long will the effect of the brightener last if we don’t have a rain-free interval for a few weeks? Should I wait to clean/brighten until we have a full week of sun?
Stain within 2 weeks of prep. 48 hours after any rain.
I’ve justly recently purchased a home where the existing decking was done in TWP 101 Cedartone 3 1/2 years ago. Wanting to stay with that tone, would the Gemini Cleaner/Brighter or the Restore A Deck Stripper/Brightener be recommended prior to applying?

Hello, We have a new deck thats been weathered for about 1.5 to 2 years Its about 300 to 400 sq ft How much TWP 100 would you say is needed for the whole project thank you.
3-4 gallons.
1 coat or 2 coats ?
2 coats applied wet on wet.
Can two 100 or 1500 be applied over Sikkens if prepped
No. The Sikkens has to be removed fully first.
It was removed because we responded to you numerous times and are reshipping a new kit. Check your spam folder. This will be removed as well. It is not our fault you are not getting the emails even though we sent them three times.
When can I place my order? Can you send email when you are starting to take orders
Sign up for the notices at checkout. We are hoping by the end of this week.
How do you apply two coats wet on wet without walking on the deck?
See here and you can walk on the first coat: https://www.twpstainhelp.com/twp-stain-wet-on-wet-application/
Thank you for your reply! Regarding coverage, would you suggest a 5 and a gal or 2 for my sq footage of 700 sq ‘? As mentioned, our deck is new PTP, month old. I will be ordering when cured. Thank you again! Sincerely, Ed.
For just one coat, a 5-gallon should work if at 700 sq feet.
New deck, 1 month old, pressure treated pine. We’re liking the look of cedar tone 101. Will a 5 gal pail cover 700sq ‘?
I’m a bit hesitant about leaking in transit and arriving 1/2 full. Dented, I don’t worry too much. Am I worrying too much about nothing?
Appreciate your input. Sincerely, Ed Real

You cannot stain it yet and it has to be prepped. We ship many gallons and 5- gallons. If ever rare damage occurs, we would replace at no charge.
Finished this 550′ kiln dried cedar deck in May of ’19…Planning for my 1st Prep/Stain either this Sept (5 months) or next April/May (11-12 months)…I’m in Coeur d’Alene, ID which is pretty dry/low humidity in the summer months…Question: prep & stain @ 5 months or 11-12 months? Planning on using TWP 120 Pecan after TWP Gemini Restore Kit…Expecting a big snow year this winter.
Do the prep and one coat this year followed by another light coat in about 12 months: https://www.twpstainhelp.com/prepping-new-wood-for-twp-stains/
So next year’s light coat would also follow the same Gemini Restore Kit process?
…sorry, noticed the answer is in the link you provided.
I have rebuilt most of my ceder deck in Minnesota. Part of the deck still has Cabot New Ceder stain (probably 6 coats over the past 15 years.) I plan to stain early next summer with TWP 100 series Pecan stain after first prepping the new wood. What about the old wood? There is too much to sand and it has darkened. Do you have a few suggestions for this situation?
The Cabot will have to be removed from the old wood.
Last year I stained my brand new deck after it dried for about 6 months with TWP100. Do I still need to use the cleaner and brightener? Or will it be okay to just pressure wash with water, wait till it drys and and then reapply TWP100?
You do need to prep kit when applying.
I have a cedar fence. It’s made up of 250′ of 6′ shadow box and 100′ of 4′ spaced pickets. Can you give me an idea of how much cleaner/brightner/stain i would need to order? The fence is about two years old and this will be the first treatment.
For 3800 sq feet when doing both sides, you will need about 30 gallons for the two coats. 5 of the prep kits.
I redecked my boat dock this past year and want to apply TWP. How much prep work need to be done if it is newer decking. What product/products should I use to prep it?
See this about new wood and how to prep and stain: https://www.twpstainhelp.com/prepping-new-wood-for-twp-stains/
I’m attempting to prep a 12 month old PT pine fence. It has small black spots along the top of the boards, but the Gemini RAD cleaner isn’t doing too well removing them. Any input or ideas?
Post a picture.
Photo is of fence after using cleaner.
Comparing the before and after it looks like much of the black mildew has been removed except for the very large black dots. Those spots (if mildew) seem deep into the wood grain. Try letting the cleaner dwell longer on those spots prior to pressure washing off. The cleaner needs to get deep under those spots to remove. If that does not work, try brushing (with a small paintbrush) of 1 part bleach to 4 parts water just to those spots and see if that helps. If that does not work, try the Step 2 brightener. That will remove other black stains that could be rust, tannin bleed, etc.
Fence without cleaner
I spoke with the manufacturer and they suggest “Safe Strip” to remove the oil based stain on my deck. do you carry that product?
On this link: https://www.twpstain.com/safe-strip-1-gallon
Getting ready to stain new stairs and porches/railings. We live in NW Oregon. This is a drier year, but some years can be quite rainy. Is there a reason to go with TWP 100 vs 1500? If so, why? We will be sealing clear cedar that was put up in early November, 2017. We will RAD first instead of just pressure washing. They aren’t particularly dirty (fairly low use), so is that really necessary? Just trying to get the best out of the TWP. I have friends who swear by SW Superdeck – they have done their fence with it and not had to touch it in 6 years. How many years will we need to redo the porches/stairs before they can be left alone, save for washing, for more than 2 years?
Use the TWP 100 for this as it will soak in a little better for this newer wood. See this about new wood and longevity: https://www.twpstainhelp.com/prepping-new-wood-for-twp-stains/
Cannot compare a porch to a fence. Vertical wood always lasts 3-4 times longer.
I stained cedar shakes and cedar siding two years ago with TWP 101. Do I need to clean or use the restore kit before I put on a maintenance coat? What are your suggestions?
Hello, prep with the Gemini Restore Kit when doing a maintenance coat.
My deck is 2 years old never been finished it is PT Pine. Do i need to sand the deck? Or should i just get the kit and go for it? Also do I need to avoid the galvanized fasteners?
No need to sand. Prep with the kit.
Great! I ordered the kit!
Also there a few spots where furniture or floor mats have been and the current color is different. Is there anything I need to take in to account for that?
And should I avoid the fasteners with the stain or cleaner? I also have a stone fire pit do I need to avoid the cleaner around it?
You should be fine with all areas.
I am staining a brand new deck that we had installed last spring.I live in Michigan. Do you suggest the 100 series?
Yes, that is correct.
what is the longevity of this stain on a treated wood deck.? how many years between reapplying ?
2-3 years is normal.
Is this stain good for a above ground pool deck. We have a large deck around our above ground pool. The wood is about 1 1/2 years old (I know I waited to long to stain) but we cleaned it with “30 second cleaner”. It came out pretty good – but seems to be splotchie in some parts. Like I said we have a Large deck and I don’t care to go thur this work again any time soon. I have read great reviews about you product – and I’m just wondering if we will be ok using your stain. ??? Please help
You will need to prep with the Gemini Restore Kit and then yes you can use the TWP 100 Series.
Is that going to be like repreping the deck that i have already done? Is what you are saying is that I waisted my time using “30 Seconds?” I just want it to turn out well. Is this product you are suggesting difficult to apply??? I am spent. Please help
Yes, you will need to properly prep again with the Gemini Restore Kit to ensure the TWP works correctly and stains evenly.

If I order the 5g stain and the application products do they ship together? Is there a shipping charge for the application products?
Hello,
5-gallon pails ship free. Application products do not as they have to ship in a separate box.
Thanks

Sorry about the hassle in the first place! Replacement is on its way!

I have found out that I can use 100 in my state. Are the stain colors the same for 100 and 1500 or do I need to order samples of the 100 series? The 100 Series are slightly different colors. See this about new wood:
I think we stained our deck with the 100 series pecan or dark oak stain about 2 years ago. There’s no peeling just fading and so we are wanting to add another coat of stain to freshen it up. Do we need to use the cleaner/brightener kit again? Also, the last stain was a little too dark on the old boards, could we use a different color this time? I know the shades will vary on the board but i think it could look really neat having the dark and maybe a lighter/more gold. Has anyone else tried this?
Yes you should use the Cleaner/Brightener kit for prep. If you want to go lighter in color then you will need to use the Stripper and Brightener Kit.
