Prep first with the Gemini Restore Kit. Only 1 coat on new wood.

Les, about $12-$1 for shipping of two gallons to KY. Shipping is calculated at checkout.
What would be the shipping cost for two gallons of TQP 1500 stain?
My address is 150 Teresa Court in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
Thanks.
Bruce,
Only the TWP 1500 series is allowed in your state due to VOC laws.
We have a brand new cedar deck installed Sept 0f 2013. It is time to think about treating it. We live in central Ohio. The summers and winters can be brutal. Other then keeping it debris free nothing has been done to the deck. We plan on using your cleaner brightener to start. Which series of TWP do you recommend.
Bruce
I would use the Gemini Restore Kit for the prep. You should use a little less but hard to say. If the unused portion is sealed 100% then it should be okay.
Applied TWP 1500 Cedar-tone to my deck last year. I am contemplating a maintenance coat this spring. Do I use the Gemini deck restore and brightener or something else?
I used about 4-1/2 gals out of the 5-gal pail last year. Since it is a maintenance coat, will I use less this year? If I order another 5-gal pail, is it possible to reseal the unused portion to use the following year?
Where can I buy this product locally. I live in Sacramento, CA
Patrick, The lightest tint is the Honeytone. Please read this for help: http://www.twpstainhelp.com/twp-1500-colors-explained/
I’ve just installed a cedar pergola and would like to preserve this natural cedar coloring as much as possible without darkening (or at least minimally darkening) the tone. I am wondering if the Cedartone 1500 color would be the best choice or if a another more ‘neutral’ tone would better preserve the natural cedar color. Thanks.

Our builder is installing a new cedar porch ( 6′ by 12′ ) and 6 steps. Should we stain it now or wait to stain it?
Where can I buy TWP 1500 locally? I live in the San Francisco Bay area.
John, we sell actual samples of the stain to test on your wood:

Is it possible to get some color cards from you to use to select which product to order?
Thank you
Yimin, sure you can skip the sanding. It is not a must.
Hi, I am really tired after stripping, brightening, washing, all of them TWO times in order to remove the previous stain.
Now, Is it a MUST to lightly sand the short fuzzy thing? Can I just leave it there and proceed to stain with TWP?
If I sand, I have to knock down the nails, then sand by hand, then water wash….Would it be OK to skip this step? I think I may be taking on more than I can handle now….
Thanks
Yimin, this is normal when using a stripper. Try to lightly sand the deck with 60 grit paper. When done rinse the deck down well to remove the sand dust.
I stripped with Behr stripper, washer/brightener. Now some of the wood board has a layer of fuzzy very short “hair”, the color of wood. Is it something that I did not wash/scape off, or is it wood fiber? Did I do something wrong? I did not use power wash. Just regular garden hose with a nozzle that can concentrate water stream and kind of like power wash.
Do I need to sand off the fuzzy short “hair” before stain?
thanks for your advice.
Kevin, cleaner and brightener will remove the mill glaze.
Before staining a new pressure treated lumber deck in western PA, some suggest I sand surfaces to get rid of mill glaze, others say don’t sand, just use a cleaner/brightner to remove glaze – what do you recommend?
Possibly but it depends on your traffic and wearing.
If I stain maintenance coat every two years, would it be possible to go for 10 years with TWP stain without having to use stripper?
Yimin, you can go darker but you cannot go lighter.
Can I apply Rustic this year, then next year if needed, coat it with other color, such as Dark Oak? (In case we want to change the color a little bit darker next year, do we have to strip this year’s Rustic out?)
Lynn T, there is a clear in the 1500 Series but clears will not offer any UV protection from graying.
We have untreated/unfinished mahogany that we would like to put a clear finish on. Do you offer a product in “clear”?
knkclark, we would not know if there is a dealer in your area or not as we are an online retailer for TWP.
Can I buy TWP local to avoid the shipping charges, I have already bought 10 gallons from you but need just one more gallon to finish
Thank you Keith Clark
Price is $37.99 per gallon for the 1500 Series. We do not offer military discounts though.
Ordered from staindepot and had tons of problems. Do offer military discoumt? 1530 stain. Price please. Mary
Bill, You cannot apply a top coat on the TWP. I would use the 1500 for this.
Which stain is recommended for pressure treated wood?
Also, is there a topcoat that canbe used over the stain for sheen on exterior furniture?
The 1530 Natural is tinted. Yes you can use it on your wood.
Is the “Natural” in the TWP 1500 pigmented or is it completely clear? I think my deck is pressure treated fir. Is your product acceptable for this?
Dale P, Natural 1530
What color would the next darker color be after the honey tone?
