TWP 1500 1 Gallon Stain
TWP 1500 is a Semi-transparent Oil-Based wood stain and preservative that is allowed in all 50 states.
The new TWP® 1500 formula is designed to penetrate better, dry faster and outperform the previous TWP® 500 series formula.
TWP® 1500 Series is an EPA registered wood preservative which prevents structural damage and wood decay on exterior above ground wood surfaces such as fencing, decking, wood siding, log homes, and roofing. TWP® 1500 Series resists water absorption that causes warping, cracking and splitting as well as preventing freeze damage in colder climates.
TWP® 1500 Series is a low VOC preservative with special U.V. absorbing pigments that prevent unsightly wood graying, darkening and fading. The selected mildewcides inhibit the growth of mold and mildew which assist in preventing premature discoloration.
TWP® 1500 Series will keep your wood beautiful, fresh and looking new longer. The ease of application and maintenance will allow you to enjoy your investment for years to come.

Yes you can. Mix well and you may have to back wipe the drips.

No treatment/stain so it could weather.
All red color gone and now light tan after brushing off oxidation.
What 1500 color is best? California Redwood sounds good, but is that for lighter woods to look like redwood? Or is that the best for me? I like the slight red it used to have. Thanks!
I would highly suggest you try some samples to test first and colors vary based on your wood, age, prep, etc.

In addition, prepping with the Gemini Restore Kit is key.
I prepared this deck by hand sanding…yes, hand sanding the old stain off to get to the original wood. The original stain was an opaque redwood, which was peeling. The deck is 25 years old. I was unable to completely remove the stain/paint in the corners of the rails and deck. I want to use a pigmented product that will cover the areas that I could not completely sand off. A deck replacement would have been several thousand dollars. Restraining/painting costs much less. Would the top 1500 satisfy my clients needs?
You cannot cover a solid stain with a penetrating semi-transparent stain like TWP. The solid stain will show through.

TWP is a penetrating stain that when prepped and applied correctly, should not be slippery at all. If it is slippery them you may have some issues that cannot be fixed without removing and starting over. Can you reply to the email you get with a picture?

How should I mix the restore a deck cleaner to clean the horizontal wood before applying another coat. Should I do just the floor boards or should I include tops of railing and steps too? Do all horizontal parts. Prep by lighting cleaning with a low concentration of 2-4 oz of powder per gallon of water.

I need to do the deck again, and seem to have misplaced by original order slip. The price I paid was $319.98, and I was shipped to my home in Decatur, GA. I thought I ordered just one 5-gallon can, but at today’s prices, that price implies I ordered more. Can you look into your records and tell me how much I ordered then?
I applied Sikkens Cetol SRD in natural finish two years ago after power washing it with OXY deck cleaner. This spring 50% of the stain started to peel. Also some of the boards have a splits in it. What would be the best way to treat is now. I already cleaned it with Wolman Deck Brite and then power washed it. There is still some old stain left that stick pretty well to the wood. I would like to apply TWP 1500 (I wish I could use TWP 100. Can I apply it now or should I do more prepping work on the deck. The weather is getting cold at night — drops to 40 sometimes. Can I still do it or should I wait till spring. Thank you.
You cannot apply TWP over the Sikkens. You should strip off the remaining sikkens with the Restore A Deck stripper we sell. Use the RAD Brightener after to neutralize. You can still stain through October. Just make sure it does not drop below freezing the night you apply the TWP.
