TWP 1500 5 Gallon Stain
TWP 1500 is a Semi-transparent Oil-Based wood stain and preservative that is allowed in all 50 states.
The new TWP® 1500 formula is designed to penetrate better, dry faster and outperform the previous TWP® 500 series formula.
TWP® 1500 Series is an EPA registered wood preservative which prevents structural damage and wood decay on exterior above ground wood surfaces such as fencing, decking, wood siding, log homes, and roofing. TWP® 1500 Series resists water absorption that causes warping, cracking and splitting as well as preventing freeze damage in colder climates.
TWP® 1500 Series is a low VOC preservative with special U.V. absorbing pigments that prevent unsightly wood graying, darkening and fading. The selected mildewcides inhibit the growth of mold and mildew which assist in preventing premature discoloration.
TWP® 1500 Series will keep your wood beautiful, fresh and looking new longer. The ease of application and maintenance will allow you to enjoy your investment for years to come.

No need. The stripper will remove the black mold as well.
Hi ,
I just wanted to clarify that the ,TWP 1500 stain -CLEAR , is transparent and doest NOT contain pigments that would alter the color of my redwood fence which is greying and which is fine with me. I wanted a clear oil stain to penetrate the wood that was top quality. I have 3,000 square feet to cover , will (3) 5 gallons work and will I need a second coat ?
Thanks ,
Paul
Clear has no pigment. For two coats you will need 6 of the 5 gallon pails. For one coat you will need 4 of them.
One coat is probably enough for the Clear on a fence.

When I opened it recently it was separated, but upon stirring it looked good. Can we use it now, or is it too old? Would love to get the $200 worth. Thanks.
If it blends well and has not “thickened” then it should be good.

Re applying the clear or natural 2 years later requires just a power washing?
The areas that are not worn out on the deck flooring -can they be feathered in to meet and match with the same product as existing?
Thank you
No the clear will not protect form UV. Natural does. Prep with the Gemini Restore Kit when redoing in 2 years so it all blends.

Where can I get the 1500 series in Omaha. Who stock it?
From a satisfied user:
The TWP stripper/brightener worked great on our cedar deck even without a pressure washer. Our deck had also been done twice with the Cabots Australian Oil (original and then reformulated). I only needed to lightly sand about 5% to get the remaining residue off and then the whole thing very lightly with an orbital sander to get uniform absorption. Barely spent 2 hours sanding on a 400 sq foot deck. Much easier than my previous experience with removing and recoating using other products. The two coats of TWP 1500 stained it very nicely. The older wood (20+ years) did stain a little darker than some newer (less than three years) replacement boards but that is to be expected.

Will sand with 100 grit then use restore a deck cleaner and brightener. I want neutral look with slight red tinge. Would I us TWP100 or TWP1500? Transparent or semi-transparent? How many coats? Which color (redwood, CA redwood, Natural)would give me the somewhat natural look? How much do I need?
Only the 1500 is allowed in CA. 2 light coats applied wet on wet. Calculator is on right for amount needed. Any color will work for you. Maybe Cal Red.

Any prep that needs to be done other than the usual loose debris dust dirt etc ?
Should I do one coat wait a year and do two coats ?

For Ohio you need the 1500 Series. Best to apply two coats wet on wet now if the wood is rough. One coat if wood is smooth:

Olivier, there a calculator on the right side of this page that will determine the amount of product needed. Use the 100 if allowed in your state otherwise use the 1500.

I purchased TWP 1500 series to stain my brand new 14×40 cedar deck. The product went on well and when dry, water beads off it like plastic. I’m very happy with the product, performed as expected.
Word of Warning – Be careful with stain soaked rags, dispose of them properly. During the 2 full days it took to paint my deck I put some of the dirty stain soaked rags in one of those tall brown paper lawn bags. Later that afternoon while cleaning up a bit the bag was put in the garage and forgotten. About 10pm that night we felt a BOOM and the whole house shook. A quick search of the house revealed nothing until we opened the garage door. It was completely engulfed! A huge solid wall of fire and smoke that threatened to take my whole house. I made quick use of the garden hose and the battle began. We were lucky that day, it ended up being only a couple thousand dollars in damage, but it could have been so much worse.
Two coats wet on wet would be best. Please use calculator on right to determine product needed.
