TWP 1500 5 Gallon Stain
TWP 1500 is a Semi-transparent Oil-Based wood stain and preservative that is allowed in all 50 states.
The new TWP® 1500 formula is designed to penetrate better, dry faster and outperform the previous TWP® 500 series formula.
TWP® 1500 Series is an EPA registered wood preservative which prevents structural damage and wood decay on exterior above ground wood surfaces such as fencing, decking, wood siding, log homes, and roofing. TWP® 1500 Series resists water absorption that causes warping, cracking and splitting as well as preventing freeze damage in colder climates.
TWP® 1500 Series is a low VOC preservative with special U.V. absorbing pigments that prevent unsightly wood graying, darkening and fading. The selected mildewcides inhibit the growth of mold and mildew which assist in preventing premature discoloration.
TWP® 1500 Series will keep your wood beautiful, fresh and looking new longer. The ease of application and maintenance will allow you to enjoy your investment for years to come.

TWP 1500 Series 5 Gallons Deck Stain
I am staining cedar siding on my cabin and everything I read said you need 24-48 hours of dry weather after applying. It rained a little the day after I stained which was not supposed to. Should I be worried or concerned about it? I am in Washington and have over half of it left to stain so a day of dry after is going to be tough. Thanks for your help!

Typically needs to be reapplied every 2 years on a horizontal surface like a deck.

TWP in general is not suggested for IPE. The clear will let the wood gray naturally (no uv protection), so if that is what you are trying to achieve then you could use the Clear but would not suggest a tinted version of the TWP 1500 on IPE.
I am looking to order TWP 1500. My deck 12×27, pressure treated pine. Railings and spindles pressure treated pine as well. There are 8 steps. I figured this to be between 700-750 sq. ft. The gentleman applying the stain for me indicated he prefers to hand brush. My question is, how much should I order? I have heard that hand brushing uses more product. If so, will a 5-gallon order be enough? Your advice is appreciated.
For one coat the 5 gallon will be enough. For two coats you will need 6-8 gallons.
Hi the limits are 250 voc in canada too so your product is legal. Why can’t we buy your product? Is it because you have to pay to get the permit to sell it here? Exterior wood stain, clear or semi-transparent is 250 voc.
Thanks
TWP 1500 is not 250 VOC. It is 350 limits and registered as a wood preservative in the US. It is not registered in Canada as a wood preservative so I can be sold there.
I live on a MN lake and have a 1 year old Cedar dock, with nothing applied prior. The dock boards are 48″ x 5.5″ x 1″ and there are 120 of them. I’ve been told to add a little bit of silica to the 2nd coat to add traction. Can you give me your suggestions for following: Which stain; is pressure washing day before adequate for untreated year old wood; how many coats should I apply; is it appropriate to add a little silica to the last coat for traction; and finally how much will I need if I’m staining all sides of the dock?
You cannot add silica to a penetrating stain like TWP. Pre with the Gemini Restore Kit and pressure washing. Let dry for at least two days. Apply two coats wet on wet. Amount needed can be figured out by using our calculator the to right of these comments. Any other info can be found on our help site: http://www.twpstainhelp.com/

You need to strip and remove the old stain if you want to use TWP. Try the Restore A Deck Stripper and pressure wash off. After it is stripper, you will need to apply the wood brightener.
