TWP 200 Series is now available to be shipped to Canada!
The TWP 200 Series was designed for shakes and shingles but can be used for all exterior wood surfaces such as fencing, log homes, cedar framed homes, etc.
TWP 200 Series is a semi-transparent oil based penetrating finish designed to extend the life of exterior wood such as cedar shake siding, and shingles. Containing a paraffin oil, TWP 200 series penetrates wood extremely well. The Paraffin oil is a “non-drying” oil that enhances the wood cells structural stability. This greatly improves the woods life and appearance.
TWP 200 Series primary function is to enhance the structural integrity and appearance of aged roofing. The finish composition will minimize grain cracking, cupping, surface erosion, water absorption and surface attack from mildew and algae. Although the system is highly penetrative, the residual surface film is highly resistant to destructive organisms. The penetrative portion of the product absorbs into aged and porous wood, adding bulk to aged and brittle wood fiber. This restores lubricity and flexibility to brittle shingles. At 94%+ solids, these products comply with all current federal and state VOC (volatile organic compounds) regulations.
TWP 200 SERIES will not crack, peel or blister making maintenance an easy task to perform for extended wood protection.
- Compliant in all States
- Sheds and Repels Water
- Prolongs UV Fading
- 8 Colors. Can take up to 30 days to cure to final color.
Material Preparation:
Due to different substrates, wood density, sanding, wiping and application methods, and atmospheric conditions, ALWAYS check actual stain color for accuracy before finish work process begins. We are not responsible for color variances following application of the product.

The 200 Series is for shakes and shingles. Use either the 100 or 1500 Series. Also is very important that you read this about new decking:

Thanks,

I ma not sure what you mean? Linear feet depends on your total fence length. Multipy that by the height and x2 if doing both sides to get the total sq. footage. Coverage for a 5 gallon pail and 2 coats applied wet on wet is about 500-600 sq. feet.

Use the Gemini Restore Kit for the prep on the playset. Not sure what you mean about working above and below.
Sorry the playground I referenced was not installed in 2007 it was 2010. That is what I get for not consulting w/ wife as she remembers all of these events by our children’s ages.
Thanks
Question on calculating square footage needed for each product. I have doubled due to staining the bottom as well as all vertical members. Do you factor in the bottom sq. ft. in calc for the Gemini Restore A Deck. Is that a correct assumption on my part? Also, that bottom side will not have the moisture reduction as the top half (maybe???)so what best practices need to be followed when working below.
Thanks
We also have a playground (install 2007)that is all PT wood and has never been stained, sealed or cleaned. What process do you recommend for preparing to stain and what products should I use?
Thanks

How often do you recommend re-coat? Wood quality has really suffered since the EPA began regulation of levels of arsenic in wood.
Also what are your thoughts on bug juice….does it really work?
Also, please share your thoughts on bug juice
Use the 100 Series. We have good feedback on the Bug Juice. Please read this about new wood:
Ive done some research and have decided on trying your product. I have rough cut red cedar I milled 3 years ago that has been stored in a shed. It will be installed vertically. I am wondering about the clear finish. If I use it will it naturally turn gray even it I kept up on maintenance and recoated as per your specs? DO you recommend coating the back side also? It will be installed with horizontal nailers about every 2 feet. The cedar is a full 1 inch thick and random widths of 6 to 8 inches wide. Also, there is some with dark red to purple in color due to not being in the sun. I assume that will fade out in a short ammount of time? Kinda kicking around the idea of the Gray color also. Do you have or know of where I could see some colors on some actual houses? Thanks for your time, as I am sure Ill have a couple more Questions.

Clear will gray naturally in months. Tinted will last years. Not need to coat the backside. Not sure about the fading of the red/purple as that really depends on the wood.

You should not apply TWP over top of an older and different stain. Best to prep first to remove the old stain and brighten the wood when done. You can use the 200 Series or the 1500 Series for this.
Hello – I am in Michigan and had a cedar fence installed in June – a few areas have begun to gray slightly, but for the most part I like the more natural color shade and do not want to hide the rough wood grains – which stain would be best to give me a slight tint without having a painted or solid-stain appearance?
Right now I’m leaning towards TWP200 or 203 – will that be my best bet to add a little bit of color without masking the natural look of the fence?
Thank you for your help!
Ryan
200 Series is for cedar shake siding and roofs. You would want the 100 Series. None of the TWP products will give a solid or painted look. The lightest tint/color in the 100 series is the 115 Honeytone.
Hello, please help. I recently received 2 estimates for a deck stain. The first guy said he would use 2 coats of TWP 100. The next person said that he would use a single coat of TWP 201. When I asked about the difference, he told me that the 201 was just a commercial grade product. I went with the second guy and today my deck was stained with 201. After reading the PDS for 200, I see that the product is intended for shakes / shingles. I am especially concerned about the statement that “the system is designed for non-traffic surfaces”
Do I have anything to be concerned about since the 201 was applied to a surface that it wasn’t intended? Do you have any info on using this product on decks?
Thank you for any information.
You will be fine but it may take a while to fully cure and dry.

No you cannot add tint to darken the clear. Might want to clean off the prints then use the clear as is.
