VOC (Volatile organic compounds) regulations are changing rapidly across the USA and Canada. Not all of the stains that we sell are compliant for all areas. As it stands 16 US states and Canada have adopted the more stringent 250 regulation:
TWP 100 Series and TWP Semi-Solid Pro-Series is not VOC Compliant for Canada and these USA states and cannot be shipped or used there: California, Colorado, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Maine, Michigan, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont*, Delaware, District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Northern VA, Pennsylvania, Parts of Arizona, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, all of Canada.
TWP 1500 Series is compliant for all 50 States but cannot be shipped or used in Canada.
TWP 200 Series is compliant for all 50 States and Canada.
*Although Vermont is a member of the Ozone Transport Commission (OTC), they have yet to enact those VOC regulations. Vermont currently observes VOC regulations established by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
I live in AZ (zip 85234) where I hope to receive shipment, but plan to use TWP 100 in cabin in Utah. Noting TWP 100 cannot be shipped to “parts of AZ”, can it be shipped to the AZ 85234 zipcode?

I will be putting on kiln dried rustic channel shiplap for siding. We live in Mts of Northern VT. w/ 5 months of winter snow on the ground. The back side of the siding is planed smooth. The front / exposed side is rough cut except the 1 inch channel is planed smooth. To prevent cupping I was going to one coat the backside w/ TWP 1500 fairly soon after delivery then put the siding up if this is ok. I realize rough cut can be done right away, but can the channel also be done then or should I wait to the following May or June? Would prefer putting up siding this year if possible.
Best to install, wait for a month or two (for kiln dried wood), prep with the Gemini Restore Kit, then stain. No need to stain the backside not would it prevent cupping.
Hey there, we have a cottage with a 9 year old massive pressure treated deck facing West in Northeast Michigan. Lots of sun and snow. We’ve used TWP 100 twice to stain it. So far so good. It’s aging gracefully. Thank you for a product that actually lasts more than one year. I really like TWP 100 and I’ve have been buying it in 5 gallons. I’m in Washington State,so free shipping is important. With 5 gallons I’ve been able to maintain my deck for 2 yrs
However on my last 5 gallons when I stir’d the TWP for the second year the bottom of the container had solidified compounds. I do seal the container and stow it in the packaging it came in. Is this occurring because I’m using 100 ?

I’m in Ohio. Installed cedar privacy fence in late fall. Too cold to stain. I will use a semitransparent stain. Boards are rough to touch with splinter chances so assume it’s rough sawed. Fence is clean, no gray or stains. Looks brand new. Do I need to clean it first before staining? It is a very long fence so I’m trying to be efficient with my time. Also 2 coats now- wet on wet or 1 coat now and 1 in a year? I’ve read both. If 2nd coat in a year do I need to use cleaner/Brightener before second coat if the fence still looks as good color and dirt wise? Thank you
No need to prep new rough sawn wood as long as it clean. 2 coats wet on wet for this since it is rough sawn.
I just built a patio cover out of cypress cut 2 months ago and planed the rough cut. Want to keep it as close as possible to natural color and keep from aging grey. Can I stain it now or do I have to wait and which product is best in Louisiana?

We are in NW Georgia and have a large deck around an above ground pool. Deck is 3 years old and had Thompson water seal 2 years ago. Will TWP work well with a lot of exposure to water 3-4 months out of the year? (Small children continuously getting in/out of pool!). Which TWP product will work best?

I am putting new western red cedar channel shiplap siding on my new house, rough side out. I would like to pre stain it before i install it, (new wood), or do I need to let it weather for several months? Also, would TWP 100 be better and last longer than TWP 1500? Rough sawn can be stained right away. Use the TWP 1500. 1-2 coats as it depends on how porous your wood is.
